I am glad that the alarms went off. I am not administration , so I didn't get any backlash, e-mails, notes, or even hear any ranting. With that said it's easy to understand why it didn't annoy me as much as others! Well, I'm glad it did, because it made deviants aware. They started to ask questions, Google search about their rights, wondering how it affects different countries.

This is still an issue and one we are still facing. Panicking isn't the answer, but turning a blind eye to it isn't either. I haven't read the proposed legislation as closely as I need to, so I am not even sure if it is a bad bill or not. I know that if we want it stopped, moaning and freaking out wont make it happen.

I don't know enough about printed art work copyrights, but I do know that with songs, books, poetry etc, you can pack as much as you can on disc or hardcopy and copyright it as a compilation, for example : The complete works of shell. The sizes of DVDs now, gee, one could fill that up quick. I am sure you can do that with your art work also. You own the copyright the moment you create your work.

The Copyright office only registers your work for you, as a time stamp with added information. Most forms are one page, simple and easy to fill out.

I want to say, and I hope you hear me:
dA has great policy that helps to protect deviants from copyright violations. If you can prove that anything is a violation, with first use proof (same as a legal copyright registration) they will remove the violation or ask the deviant to do so. We must remember that there are many young deviants learning about all of this for the first time. I am honored to have a place like dA to show my work and to be inspired and appreciate others. I have volunteered with the staff and I have seen how hard all of the teams work together with each other to protect YOU and help you (and me.)

No one can stop anyone from taking our art elsewhere, because a thief is a thief. That has nothing to do with dA. Like I mentioned before, anyone can scan an image from National Geographic and call it their own and until caught, nothing can or will be done. A thief is a thief!

We should all applaud dA administration for addressing this issue so thoroughly and quickly. They immediately set forth to educate. That Rawks!

Ok, Back to the shell's kids as Disney Characters Contest!

We have pix of the children in my gallery.

We have had some wonderful images commissioned before by `misskittyoooo and *Tooshtoosh Both incredible artists and very quick.


I know I said Ruben loves goofy, but when discussing this, I find out he also loves Tigger!
Irie is always a princess, she dresses up like one everyday, which princess?
That would be up to you! She is also Pima Indian and maybe Pocahontas would be your choice.
Zaya just loves Dragons' he dresses up like one at every chance. Perhaps Pete's Dragon would be nice.

Ohhh Exciting Exciting. Looks like Raven's Relief is on the Road to becoming Reality. I am so excited. Again we can use some help with webdesign and other fun stuff. More on that soon!
We will be a US arm of relief to this organization and I could not be happier! ~cfoto is a charm and helping me along the way. Please, again I say PLEASE (ok that's more of a plead lol) Heart this news Children who Speak Without Words If you look at my "humanities" section of my faves you will see these images that brought me to this very worthwhile cause, and one that has had me crying many times these past 6 months.

I am so honored to find a way to help, if only a little bit. Please join me. I will be rejoining some of my old school buddies to help me with this. It means very much to me.

One in 8 is an amazing company and I would like to better introduce you to them.
They raise money to give help to companies who are pursuing the Early Detection of Breast Cancer. They have been doing so using motor sports, cars, motorcycles etc. Ken Vrana started this company after working with Paul McCartney and his organization for 8 years now.

Ken has a board of Directors that reads like the who's who in celebrity-ville and they are adding new divisions to the organization, primarily in the arts! Ken used to be a well known Hollywood Producer who now dedicates his life to pursuing this cause. He has family members who live with this disease. I have been fortunate enough to join him in this cause and most of you know, this is a cause very near and dear to my heart.

The foundation has logos for the motor-sports etc, but the one for the ARTS needs to be created. I have talked about it before in detail. I will post a news item with some samples within a day or so. This organization will offer to us a place to sell our ART with a percentage of the proceeds going straight to the scholarship funds. 100% of the proceeds go straight to the early detection.

We are looking for a new logo. An hourglass with a lovely lady straddling it/holding it almost like Atlas holding the world. She is nearly naked holding one breast with one hand and the hourglass with another. This will need to be able to become jewelery, masthead, stamps and the like. Remember to keep it simple yet intricate. (I will put up samples soon.)

We did get some new entries! I created a Contest Folder in my faves so you may see what we have. We need many many more.

I am not receiving many entries for the drawing contests, perhaps because my network is 90% Photographers. Come on folks you can do it!

ostit:Remember I told you last month that we have a "Give it away" event. We will be gathering as many art pieces as we can that support the Special Olympics and sending prints to a very special young man who will pass them around amongst his teammates and fellows.

Photography, Mixed Media, Crayon, Traditional anything we can print!! There will be prizes! Winner's Chosen by a little boy in the Special Olympics!
